SO VERY BLESSED

Once in a long while, if you are fortunate enough, someone comes along and enters your life and blesses you with their friendship, support and generosity.  My post today
is about someone who has done just that and I feel so blessed that
he came into my life.

My special friend is CURT.  You may know him from his blog, http://curtsplayhouse.blogspot.com/
and he has created something very special and dear to my heart.
If you have ever shared your life with a fur-friend, then you may also know about
the heartache that you endure when you have to say good bye to them.  My dear little Gadget left me in July and Curt was of great support to me through this time and he knew in his own heart from personal experience, just how much my heart
was broken.

Well, yesterday I received a parcel from Curt and this is what was in there.

First there was a beautiful card with some very touching words written inside.  The background is fabric that Curt stitched onto the black c/s.

Then, a most unexpected surprise ... a beautiful handcrafted book.  The book closure
is a genuine dog collar and the dog tag reads "GADGET".

There are pockets, tags, embellishments, hand stamped images, journalling pockets, sentiments and sayings combined with adorable puppy printed papers.

And look at this adorable puppy made from punched shapes.

One of my favourite tags is this one that Curt hung dog bones from string
that dangle when opened.

There's even a 3D fire hydrant complete with the chains.

No words can express how Curt has made me feel by creating this wonderful book so that I may use it as a tribute to my sweet little Gadget.

"Life isn't measured by the breaths we take but rather by the moments
that take our breath away".

This is one of those moments. Thank you Curt from the bottom of my heart for this treasured gift and the gift of your friendship.

SEASON OF WONDER

Just like many of you, I love the Christmas season.
The colours, the music, the atmosphere, the lights, the cold crisp air,
the candlelight services on Christmas Eve ... it truly is a Season of Wonder for me.

My card is made with another version of a display globe but this time I used a 'Shake It shaker card pouch' made by Impression Obsession. Flower Soft was used
on the image as snow and then M/S tinsel glitter was added as snow before
the pouch was sealed.

A few tiny green bling crystals and a red bow and it's ready to go.

Thanks for stopping by.

IT'S A MAUVE CHRISTMAS

With the dreaded Halloween season being over (dry up those tears Curt), I can now concentrate on my favourite time of the year ... CHRISTMAS.
My first card this year is for my Mother-In-Law, who loves mauve.
I have been wanting to use these Flower Soft display globes since last year when I purchased them.  I can remember when I first began to stamp (over 13 years ago),
I was really intrigued with shaker cards.  And while I did manage to create a few,
they never quite looked 'right'.  Using these
display globes combined with Spellbinder dies, the results are quite pleasing.

The one problem I did have was trying to photograph the card.  No matter what
I did, I had a reflection of light that bounced off the globe.
Anyway, I think you will get the gist of the card from the photos below.

It's difficult to see the image but I used an image from The Stamp Barn of
a deer looking at a bright star in the sky (I highlighted the star by using a tiny
crystal bling).  I stamped the deer with Versacolour White and then
highlighted the entire image with Pearl-Ex.  Martha Stewart carrara marble
tinsel glitter was used as snow inside of the globe.

One card down ... only a few dozen to go!

Thanks for stopping by.
