HAPPY MAIL

Lily and I just got back from our walk to the mail box and what a surprise I found
there ... an adorable card from the United Kingdom from Lee of Lee's Crafty Corner (http://leescraftycorner-lee.blogspot.com/)
And it's PINK!  She's done a great job water colouring and has attached
each of the little flowers with tiny pearls set in silver.

This next card is from "GINGER", my good friend Cathy's, cat.
(http://thestampwhisperer.blogspot.com/)  The inside says thinking of you friend and is signed by GINGER's paw print in pink ... now this is one
very talented feline!

Last but certainly not least, a beautiful card from my friend Kristy.

It's friends like these who make my life so happy.

Thanks for stopping by.

BABY BOOK

It's taken me two days to complete this little Baby Book for an upcoming
baby shower, but it's finally done.  I haven't made a mini book for a while and it
really is one of my favourite projects to produce.

The pages started out as kraft-coloured chipboard and were then covered with DP.  Next I used my Cinch to coil bind the book together.  I had quite a time attempting to weld the word "BABY" and "ELEANOR", using my Gypsy but I finally succeeded and am
pleased with the results.

I have left several spots for the new Mom to put some photos and have added several
journaling tags, tucked into pockets, for her to write some notes.

And on the last page, I have included a poem called "Mother's Heart", which when untied, folds down to reveal the poem.

I hope Eleanor's mom enjoys the book.  And as much work as it was, it certainly felt good to be back crafting again.

Thanks for stopping by.

A COPIC KIND OF DAY

What better way to spend a day than with Suzanne Dean, soaking up new Copic ideas and skills.  Cathy and I headed out for SGD's in London, Ontario to attend Suzanne's
Advanced Copic Class (we had taken her Beginner class last Fall), first thing
Saturday morning.  Sheila (owner of Scrappin' Great Deals) was as usual, the perfect hostess, spoiling all of us with goodies and treats.

We stopped in at Stamp Art and they were having a 20% store-wide sale so of course, we got lots of goodies there.  And then SGD's was offering a 30% store-wide sale in celebration of Suzanne Dean's Copic Classes, so bottom line ... I didn't come home with very much cash.  But I did come home with a ton of new goodies!

Suzanne's Advanced Class was certainly no disappointment.  Cathy and I both came away with refreshed confidence and new skills.  Suzanne is a very gifted artist and an amazing instructor (and she has quite a warped sense of humour, too!).  Needless to say, we had a blast at her class and even learned a few new things, in the process.

It was so very nice to get away for the day and I always enjoy Cathy's company.  It's good friend's like her that have helped me through some trying times and I am so grateful for her friendship.

(Cathy, Suzanne and me)

I'm certainly not the most photogenic beast in the world
but I will treasure this photo.

So, now it's time to haul out my Copic's and practice.  I bought some new PINK Copic's so I am excited to try them out.

Thanks for stopping by.
