MINI POINSETTIA BOX

As with everyone this time of year,
I have been crazy busy with all things
Christmas.

It's also my busiest time of year for grooming too
and this year has been no exception.

But I still allow myself a bit of ME time to get
some Christmas crafting done and I found this idea on
CARDZ TV which is one of my favourite blogs.
Mary produces videos of each project
that she does.  I cased a little project that she made

Since I love making poinsettias, I thought I would
make the boxes and top them with poinsettias.  Be sure to check out
Cardz TV ... you will find a multitude of wonderful
projects and ideas.

I've also been making some gift tags (the idea also came
from Mary at Cardz TV) and can be found here:

Well, I'm off to finish up the last of my shopping
and then visit with Mom.

Thanks for stopping by.

MAY WE NEVER FORGET

There are no words that fully convey
the gratitude we have
for those who have fought
and those who continue
to defend
our rights and freedoms.

MAY WE NEVER FORGET

HAPPY HALLOWEEN MAIL

It's great to have friends with
quirky senses of humour.

Knowing how much I am NOT a Halloween
person, my friend GAIL sent me another
Halloween card.  But bless her,
she created it in pink!

Thanks Gail ... it made me smile!

TRIBUTE MINI BOOK TO CEE JAY

While I always try to have good intentions,
there are times when those good intentions seem to take forever.

This little mini book is one of those times.

CeeJay was an amazing little dog who shared his life
with my friend Barb.  He was also the inspiration
for my getting Gadget and Doodle.  He lived a long
and happy life with Barb and finally left this world when
he was 16 years old.  That was almost 5 years ago.

This book has been something I have wanted and intended
to create for Barb, for a very long time but it
always seemed to get put on the back burner.

Well, not this time.  I've been working on it for
a few weeks now and I finally finished it.  Barb will
be receiving it as a Christmas gift this year.

Barb and I share in our passion and love of animals
especially our puppies.  I know she will love this little book
as it will serve as a loving tribute to her special little man.

SNOWMEN PLACE CARDS

The dining room tables are always set
in theme with the season
at Mom's retirement home.

Debbie the administrator works tirelessly to ensure
that every where you look, it's cozy and happy.

So I decided to make some place cards to tie in with the
theme of snowmen that is used throughout Christmas
and January.

Each resident has a place card to remind them
where they sit for meals, with their respective name
on each card.

Since I needed to make 75 cards, I decided to use
a pre-coloured image.  Using a scallop punch, each snowman
image was punched out and the blinged up with
some glitter and some flower soft.

Easy, fast project that will add some happiness
to each table.

THE BUGSY BED

My little dude needed a bed of his own
(or so I thought), so I decided to
try my hand at making one for him.

Pinterest has become another addiction of mine and
I have been seeing these dog beds made by
recycling old end tables.

So, I searched for quite a while at yard sales
and finally found one that fit the bill.

Here it is in it's original form.

I flipped it over; cut the shelf out;
cut two of the legs down; added 3 pieces
of 1"x4" and finally, added 4 fence
post caps to the bottom as feet.

The finials are end caps for
curtain rods.  I also added two 1" x 2"
pieces to the back as a headboard.

Next, I spray painted everything black.

Then I made a quick pillow case for the
pillow and placed it in the bottom of
the bed as a mattress.

And to make it a Bugsy Original,
I painted a wooden crown to match the
pillow cover.  Small wood alphas were attached
to spell BUGSY and some rhinestones were
added for effect.

Now, there is only one issue ...
... Bugsy wants NO PART of sleeping in it !!!
He sat long enough for me to snap this
photo but that's as much as he has used it.

WHAT A TOOT!!!

ONCE UPON A TIME ...

... A LITTLE PRINCE WAS BORN

This little mini book is dedicated to my son ... my little prince.

The book has been in the works for well over a year now
but I finally finished it this morning.

For those who know me, I am NOT computer saavy
in any way.  But through trial and error, I have managed
to teach myself how to scan photos,
where to find them once they are scanned and
how to edit them for use in this mini book.

The paper pack that I began with was
'Chic Bebe Boy' by Teresa Collins.

Each page started as a piece of black chipboard and
covered with various D/P's, found in the pack.

The pages are all different lengths and bound using
my Cinch machine and Zutter coils.

The photos were printed in black and white
to tie into the colour theme of the paper.

One of the best things in creating this book,
was the flood of memories as I went through
the photos of my little prince.

GIRL PUPPY SYMPATHY CARDS

This has certainly been a year
of goodbyes to puppies.

And with that, comes the need for
suitable cards of sympathy
to send to the puppie's humans.

I found this sweet little verse online
and decided to use it
for some cards.

A little silver heart and dog bone were
attached to the ribbon to
complete the card.

These will be used for girls and I am
in the process of making
the same cards in aqua
for the little boys.

AUTUMN SPLENDOR

While it's sad to see Summer come to an end,
everywhere you look here in Ontario,
you can't escape the beauty
of the changing
 seasons.

The colours of Autumn are the essence
of nature's beauty.

These little tags were made and
attached to jars filled with
Werther's candies
for Mom and a couple of her friends.

The leaves were cut and embossed using
the Cuttlebug Maple Leaf set.

Gold shimmering mist was sprayed
on the leaves to give them a bit of glimmer.

The sentiment is CTMH and was coloured
with Stampin'Up markers and stamped onto
white embossed card stock.

DISNEY LOVE

For anyone who has ever had the opportunity
to visit Walt Disney World,
you will know how magical the trip can be.

A friend of mine is leaving tomorrow
with her husband and two little girls
on their first trip to the
Magic Kingdom.

These little books have been a labour of love
for the girls to take with them
for photos, autographs and journal notes.

There are 8 decorated pages and 8 plain pages
in each book.  The initials on the front are
the girl's first name initials.

Sure wish I was tagging along with them.
Disney is so different when experienced through
the eyes of children.

Have fun girls!

FINALLY, SOME CARDS

Baby cards are the call of the day since
two of my neighbour's are expecting soon.

The baby onesie Bigz die from Sizzix
was used to create both of these cards.

I am hoping to sew up some bibs for the new little ones,
just have to choose the fabrics.

Feels great to be back creating again, especially with a
happy heart.

WHAT A FACE

There are not many things sweeter in life than
the face of a puppy.

My friend Carolyn lost her little TYRA several months ago
and now has a new member in her family...
...LITTLE MAGGIE.

It was Maggie's first visit to be groomed today
and I have NEVER had a puppy so young (4 months)
behave so perfectly while being groomed.

Is this not the SWEETEST LITTLE FACE EVER??!!

I am lucky to be Maggie's Auntie Bonnie
and I am so going to love watching this little girl
grow up and enjoy her life with her forever family.

Thanks for stopping by.

REMEMBERING DITTO

With Lily's passing
and the sad times adjusting to life
without her, we had to say
good bye to our dear little Ditto too.

In many ways, Ditto was the lucky one of our fur babies
as she lived to be 15 years old.  We adopted her when she was
two years old and we enjoyed life with her for 13 more years.
She was always a loner ... feisty and independent ...
but we loved her just the same.
With age, came subsequent health issues
and it was time to let her go.

We miss you Ditto
and we hope that you are keeping Lily, Gadget and Doodle
good company.
You were a special member of our family
and we will always remember
you with love in our hearts.
